Home robot vacuum review:
People frequently ask us
if we really like robotic vacs, or if these are just toys.
Yes, we love robots,
and no, these are not toys.
Having said that,
you may be interested in what home robots
can and cannot do.
From our own experience and that of our associates,we can tell you a
robotic vac -- those we promote -- works hard!
It scoots around like a careful and deliberate pet,
picking up dust, hair, good-sized pet food tidbits,
paper shreds, and even sand,
and loading it all into its dust bin.
However, from our experience, a robotic vac
cannot completely replace your traditional vac.
Although it cleans a lot,
it is not designed for deep-cleaning of carpets, for example.
Some people use it for daily cleaning,
and then once a week or once a month,
go around with their large vacuum
to catch whatever the robot didn't.
Also, although a robotic vacuum tries hard,
it just isn't able to clean thoroughly
right next to walls, furniture legs,
or in corners, so you may want to
do a quick once-around-the room
with your broom to catch these areas
pulling dust and soil outward,
and then let the robot have at it. :-)
You may also have wondered
about the relatively small dust bin.
The dust bin size has not been a problem for us. If the vac has had its fill and you are not around,
it simply shuts itself down
and waits for you to come back to empty it.
That little bin holds considerable material,
so it can do a lot of cleaning
even when you're not there.
And if you use it every day
or as often as needed,
you likely won't require a larger dust bin, anyway.
Emptying and cleaning
is easy as can be
and takes just a few seconds.
It's such a joy to have a robot around.
For those of us who put things off, a little robot helps us get to it.
It's like having a good buddy by your side
prodding, encouraging, pushing you
to keep on working. A home robot also allows you to leave, and find a
nice chunk of your cleaning done when you return.
