1) Beautiful commemorative portraitware pitcher
depicting Nicholas II as a young man.
Created of thin, delicate porcelain bisque
with a raised design.

(please allow a few seconds for photos to load)

Unfortunate rim chips on either side.

Also has a rough rim area shown at about the 7:00 position
visible in the enlarged image after you click.
No cracks. Ear is on firmly.

Truly phenomenal image of Czar Nicholas II.
The image is probably an early transferware,
but the dots which make up the picture
are not identical and not in a strict pattern.
Some of the lines appear as solid brushstrokes.
Still, it's likely transferware.
The only gloss on the pitcher
runs left from and including the left half of the image.

Marked with an impressed number which appears to be 8780;
it's not visible in this photo,
but appears just to the right of the dot at 12:00 position.
Extremely difficult to see with the naked eye.

Measures about 4-1/2" high.

Commemorative of the
House of Romanov
Russia.
Unknown maker.
Unknown origin.
