Vintage Remington Rifle Butt.

Normal wear; no cracks, no breaks or chips.
dark Walnut hardwood
with handsome ribbed and marked Bakelite buttplate
(dark brown, not reddish as in photo);
two original screws with nice patina.

Note that this item is richly dark all over;
photos have been lightened to show details.

Open side measures 4-3/4"long x 1-11/16" wide.
Three one-inch holes on open side start approximately
3/4" from top end (when on rifle) and 1-1/2" from bottom end.

Probably ca. 1920-1930's, since it was stored with
hunting and fishing magazines from that era,
but no guarantee as to exact vintage.
